20 Days - Southern/Northern Experience
Bursting with value, the Southern Experience Deluxe Safari departs Livingstone, Zambia and visits Botswana, Namibia and South Africa, ending in Cape Town. Experience the most spectacular features of Southern Africa while spending 9 nights in lodges and 10 nights camping. We also offer this tour as a Camping Option which includes 2 nights in chalets and 17 nights camping.
If you prefer t o join a shorter version of either the Standard or Upgraded Option you can finish this tour in Swakopmund.

This tour starts in Victoria Falls and ends in Cape Town. Enjoy the scenery, wildlife, culture and natural beauty that cannot be compared. This entire region is magical, and unlike any other part of the world!

Detailed Itinerary: |
Day 1 Depart Victoria Falls for Chobe National Park. A mid-morning departure takes us into Botswana with an option of spending the day game viewing in one of Africas unspoiled wildernesses, Chobe National Park.We spend the night camping on the banks of the Chobe river listening to the calls of Africa.
Day 2 Caprivi Strip and Popa Falls. On our second day we move on to Namibia and spend a relaxing day driving through the Caprivi Game Park. Then settle down for the night on the mighty Okavango River next to the Popa Falls.
Day 3, 4 Botswana/Okavango Delta and Mokoro Trip. From our camp on the Okavango River we move back into Botswana and onto Etsha, on the western border of the Okavango Delta. Spend the next three days exploring the Delta, which is probably Africas best preserved area of great wilderness with a vast oasis of crystal clear lakes, lagoons and palm fringed islands. The nights are spent camping on the islands under the African skies.
Day5 Okavango Delta/Mekwena Lodge. After spending three days being poled around the Delta on mokoros, traditional dugout canoes, we come back to Mekwena lodge to clean up and relax,
Day6 Delta to Kavango River.On the morning of the 6th day we take a leisurely drive out of Botswana back into Namibia. We make our way to Mayana River Camp which is on the bank of the Kavango River overlooking Angola. A sunset cruise is optional before we sit down and have a braai for dinner.
Day 7, 8 Etosha Pan National Park. On the morning of the 7th day we leave the Kavango River and make our way to Estosha Game Park. We spend the next 2 days doing game drives around the park.This includes evening game viewing at different camps with floodlit waterholes.
Day 9 Finger Rock, Petrified Forrest, Twyfelfontein, Burnt Mountain. An early morning move out of Estosha takes us to the spectacular scenery of Twyfelfonein. On our way there we visit the small German town of Outjo where we relax for a coffee break. We then visit Finger Rock on our way to the petrified forest where we have lunch. At our final destination for the day, Twfelfontein, we go for a guided tour of bushman painting and rock engravings.
Day10 Desert Elephants and Brandenberg. Early the next morning we set off with a local guide in search of the desert elephants. Our chances of finding them are good as the local Damara people always seem to know their whereabouts. After lunch we set off for Brandenberg where we go for a walk to look at the famous "White Lady" rock painting.
Day 11 Cape Cross Seal Colonyand Skeleton Coast. Moving from the interior we make our way to the coast where the desert meets the cold Atlantic Ocean. On our way to Swakopmund we visit Africas largest seal colony, the Cape Cross Seal Colony.
Day 12 Swakopmund. Spending two nights in comfort we explore this quaint German town by day and night. The beach is always a great option or you can enjoy yourself sand boarding on some of the worlds highest sand dunes. Other options are fishing, quad biking and sky-diving.
Day 13 Namib Naukluft National Park and Kuisieb Canyon. Day time is spent driving through this rugged landscape and then spend the night under the desert stars.
Day4 Sesriem & Sossusvlei. We spend the day visiting the worlds highest sand dunes which can reach heights of over 300m. With luck, we could even find some water in the lake.
Day5 Naute Dam. After leaving the sand dunes behind we head off for the beautiful Naute Dam where we enjoy a wealth of bird life.
Day 16 We arrive at the Fish River Canyon in the morning and set up camp at Hobas. After a relaxing lunch we head off and explore the canyon by foot for those interested.
Day 17 Al-Ais Hot Springs and the Orange River. After a glimpse of the hot springs, we take a relaxing drive to the Orange River where we set up camp on the river bank and enjoy sundowners in the open air bar that evening.
Day 18 Canoeing on the Orange River. A peaceful day is spent drifting down the Orange River in canoes.
Day 19 West Coast of South Africa and the Namaqualand Flowers. We cross the border into South Africa and make our way down the coast enjoying the scenery and the flowers (in season).
Day 20 Cedarberg Mountains and enter Cape Town. A day drive through the mountains takes us to our final destination, Cape Town, where we go out on the town and enjoy our final farewell meal.
OPtional Day 21 The day is spent exploring the Cape Peninsula, visiting Hout Bay on the Atlantic Coast before heading off to Cape Point for lunch. In the afternoon we head back via the Penguin colony on the Indian Ocean and then end off the day having sundowners overlooking Cape Town.
Optional Day 22 The day is spent in the wine area of Stellenbosch, tasting wines from the different wineries. Lunch is included.
The rates are inclusive of a driver/guide, all transport, meals, accommodations, game parks, camp sites, road tolls and taxes, use of full range of camping equipment and all activities unless specified.
Visas, travel and health insurance (which should be arranged prior to departure), alcoholic beverages, voluntary restaurant meals and tips are not included.
